[ Daylight ]
legendofred

If there’s any time of the day that Skyla likes, it’s when the daylight is barely coming in. She normally wakes up right before the sun rises; her, and her grandfather tend to do running first so they can run through Mistralton City, while they watch the sunrise. She does like other times that have daylight though, as she loves the sunlight, and how warm it is.

Why do you wear tight clothing?

“Well.. I like the material my clothes are made out of, and I’m not much of a baggy clothes type of person.. So, I guess it’s.. cause I like the fit of it?”

What are your three sizes?
─ Anonymous

“Aw jeeze..” She sighed, blushing at the question. “It’s uh’.. 39-26-38”

What would you do if you got too injured to do much but sit in a wheelchair?
─ Anonymous

“Uhm’.. well, I’m assuming you mean permanently.” She sighed, frowning. “To be honest, the idea of that happening really scares me.. I mean, my whole career is based around flying, so if something like that happened..” Skyla looked down. “But, I would try to make the best with what I had! I mean, if something like that happened, and I couldn’t prevent it.. well, it happens! I’d just try to adjust as best as I could, and probably see if I could still do what I love.”

“Well, I would hope so, Chili! I wouldn’t want you to somehow like nasty tasting food.” She was joking though. She had a feeling that someone of his status- being a former gym leader, as well as a chef, would have a nice taste palette. The idea of him stooping to eating mediocre food was.. rather laughable, but she was going to make sure that they found a place that was worthy! For now, anyway, because she was sure as heck starving. Almost any place looked appealing, but.. She was very glad she spotted the cafe when she did. Her Swanna waddled up next to them, ruffling her feathers up as Skyla stopped. “Alright, alright, well.. Let’s go in then.” She smiled at Chili, walking right into the quaint little cafe.

“Huh..” She looked around, seeing that the cafe was pretty quiet at this hour. “I wonder why it’s so—” “Hello there!” Skyla looked up to see a waiter in front of her, smiling at the three of them. “Welcome to our cafe! Why don’t you two love birds have a seat, and I’ll bring you two—” He was interrupted as Lady squawked, followed with a rather annoyed look on her face. “Er.. Three of you.” Skyla blushed, shaking her head at her Pokemon. “Well, uhm’.. He said take a seat so, let’s just grab this table.” She yet again dragged Chili with her, leading him toward a small table near a window. The redhead instantly took her seat, sighing as she slouched a bit as she tried to relax.

Blue eyes focused on Chili, reflecting curiosity as she gazed at him. “Have you ever.. been here before?” Skyla asked, hearing her Pokemon waddle around her. “It seems kind of new. I’ve never heard of it, or have seen it in the times I’ve visited.” Which, was very few, she may add, but it wasn’t her fault. She just had a busy schedule to maintain, but hopefully the former gym leader at least heard of this place.. Or was familiar with it to a degree. The last thing she wanted was to have made a poor judgement call and pick a really bad cafe for them to eat at.

“That depends what you class as nasty!” Chili thought it could mean either that it looked or tasted nasty, then the other is what others would claim ‘junk food’ to be due to it’s typical unhealthy side effect, hopefully she didn’t mean the latter one of else he would be full of glares mostly because they were in a majority of his life. Now that they had found somewhere to eat, he was in a much more happy state since it was food and the fact he had company was pretty good too, though it’s not often he goes out with someone like Skyla so it would be pretty interesting. “Alright then.” He followed briefly behind even though it felt weird going into a café or restaurant after working in one for a while, it couldn’t be helped as of now.

His red eyes were looking around the place, seemed nice enough for now, then again the atmosphere wasn’t really his priority but it was good to check on these things, it usually gives an idea of what they typically serve in these places. As he heard the term ‘love birds’ from the waiter, he opened his eyes wider and quickly added. “Woah, it isn’t anything like that!” Being so defensive on the subject, it didn’t help that she was continuously dragging him about the places without warning, the redhead sat down on the opposite side of the table and stretched his arms out as they felt stiff from the pulling, he began to ease into his seat after that action.

He blanked out for a minute trying to recall the place, it couldn’t be recognized. “Not that I know, new places tend to start up in big cities like this pretty often cause it’s a busy place! Not many can get through that well cause of the competition when you start slow and others are much more known, luckily back in Striaton that wasn’t a problem cause it’s not a big town and its been running for a long tme.” His parents taught him these tips along with others when one day they would have to leave and rely ontheir sons to take care of the family business, by the seems of the place it wasn’t too bad looks wise, hopefully the food would have promise to it as well.

submaster-ingo started following you

submaster-ingo:

Upon seeing Skyla shudder, Ingo said, “It’s not as bad as it sounds…! Most of them are tourists anyways.” He waved it off. It only really meant just going to work for longer hours, it wasn’t as if hoards of people showed up to him and Emmet. Ingo quietly listened to Skyla talk about her grandpa, he seemed like quite the character indeed… He looked around to see not many people around, which was odd seeing as it was Nimbasa. He asked her his question, and turned back to her right as a big smile formed on her face. How bashful she looks, Ingo thought.

“You probably are,” Ingo said casually, “you’re both very friendly. So I just thought you two would be a good match.” He said ‘match’ not as in romantically, but they seemed to just… Fit together? Is that the correct term? “I’m sure he does, he likes anyone willing to hang out or ‘play’ with him.” Ingo said closing his eyes, remembering all the times Emmet had wanted to play with him. There weren’t enough fingers or toes in the world to count them up. He opened his eyes at ‘cool guy’, Ingo laughed a bit at this, she seems a little flustered?

However, Skyla and Emmet’s relationship wasn’t really something he should be talking about, and he felt bad for poking his nose into it… “Sorry, I don’t mean to be so forward. Thinking out loud I suppose…” He said, looking down. He was happy that Emmet found a new friend though, seeing as he was more busy with work and the like. Ingo decided to take a little break in that little moment, “Would you like to go out and do anything? I have some free time right now…”

“Oh, really? Well, that’s a huge relief.” She sighed out, smiling at the other. At least it wasn’t a huge crowd! That would’ve really made her worry for the pair of brothers. The last thing she wanted for them was to have a huge hoard of trainers go into their Subway Station, and overrun them with challenges. As nice as that may be, after a while it would just.. be absolute hell. But her thoughts were quickly focusing on other things- mainly to the fact of how embarrassed she felt when Ingo had asked her that question. “A good match?” She repeated, blushing once more. Oh, jeeze. She was probably reading too much into his words; he probably meant something like, a good match of friends. Yeah, that had to be it.. She didn’t exactly peg Ingo to be upfront, and match makey, so she was just going to assume he meant in a platonic way.

“Really? Huh.” Play? Well, Emmet did project that childlike enthusiasm.. So, she assumed that he liked to literally play as well. Strange.. but, really cute. Skyla shook her head as Ingo apologized- smiling to reassure him. “No, no it’s okay! Really, it’s fine, Ingo.” She reached out, and patted him on the arm. “Don’t worry about it.”

“Huh..” She blinked, scratching at her cheek as the other asked her. “Of course! I’d love to.” Skyla smiled, nodding. “Where do you want to go though?” Nimbasa was a pretty big city, so it wasn’t like there wasn’t anything going on. They could probably just walk around until they found something that caught their interest. She pursed her lips, looking up as she tried to think. “Well.. let’s see it’s.. around lunch time, so maybe we should get something to eat? I mean, you seemed busy before, so I dunno if you’ve eaten yet!” Eyes beamed with curiosity as she stared at him, tilting her head. “Or, we could.. uhm’, hm.. We could always go to the amusement park area?” But she wasn’t sure how much he would like that. Out of the pair, Ingo seemed more content with just walking around, and talking; a complete opposite to his brother, who loved to explore, and play.

The ex gym leader hadn’t been dragged around like this for a long time, usually it was either him being dragged out of bed by Cilan due to oversleeping or when he was forced to go shopping for certain items, the latter wasn’t as bad since he occasionally threw a few items in for himself as a job well done, though it was frowned upon back home. He looked around at some of the places to go and not many of them were really his ideal place, too pricey for his liking but if it was that good then he’d be willing to throw some of his money in that direction. “Well what can I say? I like places that have filling food with a load to choose from whether its sweet or savoury!” Chili was one to try all kinds of food at least once, unless it just looked bad then he’d give it a general miss, so finding a place to eat was a bit of a mission like that and with someone else here, this just makes it trickier.

He looked over to her as she mentioned the whole Swanna walking business, it was kind of weird just because if you could fly then it would save time in going down specific paths and getting past people, then again he didn’t know much, if anything on aerial travels but they were just wild ideas. “You got a point there.” He looked down at the swan pokémon as it was still continuing it’s trekking. It would make sense flying about would use a lot of energy, still it would be a better way to get about quickly in his opinion, oh well. His eyes began to stare about still looking for a place until Skyla had quickly spotted somewhere and just like that, the redhead was dragged again.

He hadn’t recalled the place that so his face was quite surprised, but he hadn’t ventured all around the area before, so it wasn’t actually that surprising when you thought about it. “Sure, this walking was getting tiring anyways.” Any excuse to sit down is a good excuse so that was settled.

“Well, I would hope so, Chili! I wouldn’t want you to somehow like nasty tasting food.” She was joking though. She had a feeling that someone of his status- being a former gym leader, as well as a chef, would have a nice taste palette. Sunken Stone (Open)

thestrongeststeel:

“Ah… well, I’m sure glad it wasn’t Chromium who was out and about today. That would have been really worrisome.” Steven chuckled nervously. While his Aggron was mostly educated, it was not really tolerant of nonsense, and whatever it considered ‘suspicious’ behavior would be met with violence.
Definitely not a Pokémon to release in crowds.
The Metagross, though… that jolly hunk of metal was quite amiable.
“Spruce looks really healthy for a bird his age, though…” He didn’t know much of Delibirds, though, or bird-Pokémon in general.
He left that sort of thing to Winona, except Skarmory.

Taking Skyla’s hand, he grinned softly, shaking it firmly. “A Gym Leader, huh? I’m sure you must be very skillful.” Letting go, he slowly shifted, then motioned for her to sit as well. It’d be easier to talk, anyway. Well, at least, he thought so.
From the looks of Delibird, and from what she said afterwards about delivering cargo, he assumed her Gym was of the Flying Type. He had heard of the city in passing, and he vaguely recalled that there was a flying-type Gym in Unova, so that had to be it.

“I… actually came here to indulge in a hobby, but I found out a short while ago that it’s not my type of… place.” He admitted offhandedly, deciding to not elaborate. It was embarrassing enough as it was..!
“I’m from Rustboro. Well, I was born there. It’s in the mainland. I currently live in Mossdeep, but that’s when I’m not working.”
Or out in caves, doing things that weren’t work but were still taxing.
It didn’t matter, he enjoyed it.

“It’s quite the tropical regions. There’s a lot of storms here and there, but we don’t get any snow… it’s much colder here in Unova.”
And much less humid.
“The cities vary. None are quite as large as that central hub here in Unova… ah, Castelia, was it?”
Now THAT was a big city. “We mostly have quiet places, a few of them are really unified with nature.” Pacifidlog and Fortree came to mind right away. They were really nice to visit, although he preferred to keep to his ‘favorite areas’ regardless.

“Chromium?” What an interesting name, she thought. “Well, I guess it is good he wasn’t out..” She looked at him, blinking as he let out a nervous chuckle. Well, judging from his reaction, it probably really was a good thing the Pokemon wasn’t out- whatever Chromium was. Her eyes trailed to the pair of Pokemon, watching them play with each other. “Oh, yeah! Well.. you can thank my grandpa for that. He takes really good care of Spruce. He makes sure that he gets plenty of healthy food, and is constantly training. He may not get to have all the gym battles in the world now, but he still likes to take part of them whenever he can.” She smiled, looking back to the man.

Skyla easily returned the shake, tilting her head at him. “Aw.. Well, I don’t know about that..” She trailed off, blushing at the compliment. Her hand slipped back to her side as he withdrew his own, watching him motion to take a seat. She gladly did- taking a seat right next to him. Skyla looked back over to Spruce, and his Metagross- chuckling as the bird Pokemon continued to let out cries of joy. “Hm?” Her attention was drawn back to him, giving him a sympathetic look as he admitted to why he was here. “Oh, that’s no fun!” She commented, frowning at that. Well, that was a shame that he couldn’t really go about with his hobby here.. Whatever it was.

Maybe she would pry about what it was later.

“Whoa, Rustboro? I’ve heard of it! My grandpa actually used to do deliveries there for some business there.” She shrugged. “I can’t remember the name of it though- he said it was run by a really nice gentleman. Said he was really educated, and knew what he was doing.” But she continued to listen, her eyes, and ears completely focused on Steven as he spoke. It was so nice to hear where others came from- what their story was, what they liked to do.. It was really interesting to her. “Yes, Castelia. It’s the biggest city in Unova, I think.” She tapped her chin. “Yes! It is, but wow..” So they didn’t have a city quite as grand Castelia, huh? That wasn’t so bad. It was good to hear that they had a bit more of quieter areas. It was hard to come by a really quiet area in Unova, as almost every route, or city was big, and bustling at every hour.

“That’s really awesome, Steven! I.. wish I could say that it’s the same here.” Skyla laughed, smiling at him. “We have some areas here that are really quiet, or one with nature, but.. Not as many as Hoenn does, I’m sure. We have a lot of cities, and towns though- not many are super quiet though. It’s usually really loud here. Which.. I mean is nice, but sometimes it seems like it’d be a lot nicer to have it be peace, and quiet..” She trailed off, looking to the water that was feet away from them. “How is Mossdeep though? It.. sounds pretty mossy.” She joked, gazing back at him.
